This recipe for easy French toast is the best, featuring a thicker batter and cinnamon sugar flavors that truly set it apart, making it a simple yet perfect French toast that everyone will love. It's one of our family's favorite breakfasts, and it always turns out perfectly!

Equipment for Making French Toast at Home

Ingredients:

  • 4 large Eggs
  • 2⁄3 cup Milk
  • 1⁄4 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1⁄4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp Ground cinnamon
  • 8 slices Bread

Instructions:

  • Preheat griddle to 350 degrees F or heat a skillet over medium heat.
  • In a blender, add the eggs, milk, flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and vanilla. Blend until smooth. If you prefer whisking by hand, start by mixing the flour and eggs together in a shallow dish, then whisk in the rest of the ingredients until combined.
  • Dip bread slices into the batter, dredging them well on both sides, and place on a hot, greased griddle or skillet.
  • Cook for a few minutes, until the bottom of the bread starts to get golden brown. Turn them over and continue cooking on the other side in the same manner.
  • Remove to a plate. Serve warm with syrup and a sprinkle of powdered sugar.

Note:

  • The flour aids in creating a thicker "batter" for dipping the bread, resulting in exceptionally fluffy and delicious French toast.
  • Any kind of milk will work (even dairy-free), but the higher fat milk, the creamier the batter will be. Whole milk works great, and you could even add a little splash of cream if you want.
  • Depending on the freshness of your ingredients, you can make the batter 1-2 days ahead of time.
  • Allow French toast to cool completely and store it in a freezer-safe bag or container for up to 3 months. Rewarm on a skillet, in the toaster, or for a few seconds in the microwave.
