This simple fruit dip is sweet and tangy and only uses two main ingredients. Add your favorite extract or fruit juice to complement any flavor. Serve it with your favorite fresh fruit, and it's perfectly creamy for the best pairing!
8 oz Block cream cheese ((225g) softened to room temperature)
7 oz Marshmallow creme ((198g))
1⁄4 tbsp Desired extract (optional)
Instructions:
Add the cream cheese and the marshmallow creme to a medium-sized bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer. Using a handheld mixer or the paddle attachment, beat the cream cheese and marshmallow together on medium-high speed until smooth.
Switch off the mixer, incorporate the extract if desired, and continue beating on low speed. Allow the dip to chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving with fruit. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. You can freeze the dip for up to a month. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight.
Note:
Use full fat or lower fat cream cheese. Consider using strawberry cream cheese or other fruit-flavored cream cheese to make your own fun version.
You can omit flavored extract completely, though I recommend a little something extra. Consider using a vanilla extract or even a citrus extract, such as orange or lemon. My favorite is almond extract because its flavor lends well to and complements most fruits.
After freezing, you might need to re-whip this fruit dip to maintain its fluffy texture.
