This Lion’s Mane Mushroom Recipe is a quick and easy side dish that bears a resemblance to chicken, with some even comparing it to crab meat. Also, it takes less than 10 minutes to make, and it pairs well with almost any meal, from pasta to steak.
Equipment for Making Lion’s Mane Mushroom at Home
Ingredients:
- 8 oz Lion’s mane mushrooms
- 2 tbsp Butter (or extra virgin olive oil)
- 1⁄2 tbsp Soy sauce
- Sea salt (to taste)
Instructions:
- Cut off the bottoms of the mushrooms, then slice them into 1/4-1/2 inch pieces.
- In a dry, medium skillet over medium-high heat, cook the mushrooms for a couple of minutes on each side. The excess water will evaporate, and mushrooms will reduce in size a bit.
- Add the butter and cook until browned, about 2 minutes. Flip the mushrooms and cook for another 2 minutes, or until golden brown on each side.
- Add soy sauce and salt, and enjoy!
Note:
- Once you get the mushrooms home, you want to store them in some type of bag that lets the mushrooms breathe—a paper bag is a great option.
- When stored in the fridge, they will last up to five days. Your veggie drawer is the perfect place to keep them. You should consume cooked mushrooms immediately. However, if you do have leftovers, store them in an airtight container for a couple of days.
